Checkering, Marking & Cutting

Laser have been used for years to personalize firearms in the form of checkering and decorative engraving. With the advent of ATF regulations, lasers are now also being used for marking and identification of weapons. In addition, using the cutting capabilities of lasers, they can also be used for cutting hand guards.

Gun barrels, slides, receivers, etc are unique to each manufacturer and so a “one size fits all” system doesn’t always work. By first determining the working area that is required, we can design the solution around the firearm type, rifle, shotgun, or both, and then determine if there are any special fixturing requirements. In most cases, our standard fixture system can be adjusted to accommodate most stock types with little to no changes.

The production goals of the application are paramount in the selection of the laser itself and what power laser will be best suited for the job. Once these requirements are understood we can then select the best optical combination for spot size, work area and depth of focus, for the best overall laser solution without compromise.
